Building the Millet Movement
Our chapter is rooted in a collective mission to promote millets as a sustainable solution for nutrition, climate resilience, and community empowerment. As part of a broader movement, we are dedicated to driving awareness, education, and action around the revival of millets in both local and global food systems. We work closely with farmers, youth leaders, women’s groups, institutions, and government bodies to implement community-level initiatives that support millet cultivation, consumption, and entrepreneurship. From awareness campaigns and capacity-building programs to research collaborations and exhibitions, our chapter plays a pivotal role in mobilizing people toward healthier diets and sustainable agriculture. Through advocacy, partnerships, and on-ground action, we strive to make millets a household staple and a powerful tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
WHY START A LOCAL CHAPTER?
Starting a local chapter allows you to become a catalyst for change in your community by promoting the adoption of millets as a sustainable, nutritious, and climate-resilient grain. Local chapters play a vital role in connecting people, spreading awareness, and leading grassroots action that supports health, livelihoods, and the environment.
